Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Prep/Line Cook to join our team! You will be preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. A line cook plates dishes and completes basic food-prepping tasks for a restaurant. Their main duties include preparing and cooking food in a specific station, cleaning up prep areas, and making sure the kitchen is stocked. You also have an attention to detail, possess solid knife technique, and can manage multiple prep projects at one time. You excel at keeping an organized and clean walk-in and are committed to ensuring that your co-workers do the same. You take seriously the responsibility of tracking waste and communicate with your managers when something in the waste log is of concern.
 

Responsibilities
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chefs instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Taking other responsibilities or other tasks as needed and other work as directed by your supervisor
Qualifications
  • Handle high-volume shifts efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry best practices
  • Certified in Food Safety
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 25 lbs
  • Responsible and trustworthy
Compensation: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
